Love is in the Air
The Perinton Concert Band presented a concert on Friday, April 12, 2024 at 7:30PM. Love was in the air this evening as the band performed a medley of The Beatles, Cole Porter on Broadway, and Symphony No. 4 by Tchaikovsky.

Fairport, N.Y. — Love was in the air in Fairport on Friday night.
The Perinton Concert Band presented “Love is in the Air,” at the Minerva DeLand School Auditorium, featuring a medley of love-themed musical selections.
“If you don’t like one number, just wait a moment,” said conductor Charles Van Buren. “You’ll like the next one.”
The medley included a wide range of genres, from the Beatles, to Cole Porter on Broadway, all the way to Symphony No. 4 by Tchaikovsky.
“It started in 1978 and has grown all these years,” said Van Buren, who’s in his final season as conductor.
The band began in Fairport, and auditions were held through word of mouth. 46 years later, the band consists of 48 musicians.
If you’d like to see the band live, there are multiple opportunities through the end of the summer:
- “Impressions” will be on Friday, May 17 at 7:30 p.m. in the Minerva Deland School Auditorium
- “The Gazebo Concert” will be on Thursday, June 6 at 7 p.m. at the Fairport Gazebo
- “The Gates Chili Community Music Festival” will be on Sunday, June 9 at 1:55 p.m. at the Gates Chili Performing Arts Center (festival runs 12:30-6:30 p.m.)
- “Salute to America” will be on Sunday, June 30 at 6 p.m. at the Perinton Recreation Center

Holiday Harmonies
The Perinton Concert Band presented “Holiday Harmonies” on Friday, December 8, 2023 at 7:00 PM. Musical selections included “Feliz Navidad”, “Dreidel Dance”, and Leroy Anderson’s “Sleigh Ride” to name a few. This annual holiday concert had a special visit from Santa!

Holiday Traditions
The Perinton Concert Band presented a holiday concert at the Perinton Recreation Center, Turk Hill Rd., Fairport.
Musical selections included “We Need a Little Christmas,” “Silent Night,” “Hanukkah, Festival of Lights,” and music from Frozen 2, along with many other holiday favorites!
The holiday concert also included a visit from Santa!

Sounds of the Season
The Perinton Concert Band presented Sounds of the Season on Friday, December 10, 2021 at 7:30pm in the Perinton Community Center Gymnasium, 1350 Turk Hill Road, Fairport, NY.
Musical selections included “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree,” “A Chanukah Celebration,” Jose Feliciano’s “Feliz Navidad,” music from The Polar Express, along with many other holiday favorites.
The performance even included a visit from Santa!
